Breguet Marine Chronograph 5823 “200 Ans de Marine”

To celebrate 200 years since Abraham-Louis Breguet was appointed to make chronometer’s for the French Royal Navy by King Louis XVIII, Breguet has created a special 200 piece limited edition timepiece – the Marine Chronograph “200 Ans de Marine” 5823.

In 1815, Breguet designed marine chronometers that were importnat to determining a ship’s location at sea, and therefore they had to be accurate, and so they were mounted in wooden boxes with a gimbal suspension system to keep the timepieces level.
