Launched in 1953 to celebrate Tissot’s 100th anniversary, the Visodate drew on a rich history of innovation. At the time, the integration of a date display into an automatic movement was a feat of virtuosity, which Tissot has brilliantly recaptured in this very beautiful contemporary version. While today’s model benefits from cutting-edge technology and materials, its vintage spirit has been preserved with the Tissot date and logo from 1953.

The 40 mm diameter steel case comes with either a polished finish or a polished PVD plated gold finish (pictured above). It is powered by an ETA 2836-2 with a 42-hour power reserve. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, day and date. A sapphire crystal protects the dial. Transparent caseback.

Dial is silvered or black with applied indexes, and a full day/date aperture at 3 o’clock. Faceted and polished dauphine hour and minute hands. Comes on a black or brown crocodile pattern leather calfskin strap with fold-over clasp. Water-resistant to 30 meters. Retail price is $650.
