Pre-SIHH 2013: IWC Ingenieur Automatic

Originally launched in the 1950s, and then redesigned by the late Gérald Génta in 1976, the Ingenieur is one of the most classic IWC timepieces. At SIHH 2013 — which begins January 21st — IWC Schaffhausen will launch a redesigned Ingenieur collection. The Ingenieur Automatic (shown) is the only model that has been previewed so far, but expect multiple new models to launch at the start of SIHH, including a chronograph.

The Ingenieur Automatic is presented in a sleek 40 mm by 10 mm stainless steel case. It is available with a black dial, a silver-plated dial or a silver-plated dial with rose gold plated hands and markers. A soft-iron inner case protects against magnetic fields up to 40,000 A/m. The Ingenieur is powered by caliber 30110 which runs 28,800 (4hz), with 21 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve. The bracelet is stainless-steel with a folding clasp. The sapphire crystal is flat and features an antireflective coating on both sides. Solid case back, water-resistance 120 meters.(Ref. IW323902 – black dial, IW323904 – silver-plated dial, IW323906 silver-plated dial with rose gold hands and markers)
