In 1957 Omega created the Seamaster 300, the Railmaster, and the Speedmaster. At Baselworld 2017, for the 60th-anniversary Omega has re-created all three historic timepieces, available individually, or as a trilogy.
According to Omega, “A unique digital scanning technology, used by OMEGA for the first time, supplied the Swiss watchmaker with accurate representations of the original watches. These invaluable cross-sections and dimensions, along with drawings of the original models, served as design templates for the new watches, which, though slightly revised for the 21st century, remain true to the spirit of ‘57.”
The details of these vintage re-editions are quite accurate with beautifully brushed and polished steel cases and black “tropical” style dials that really make you think you are looking at something from the past.
Each watch is limited to 3,557 pieces and comes in a presentation box inspired by the original 1957 packaging. In addition to the bracelets, a spare leather and NATO strap are included, as well as a strap changing tool.
The Omega 1957 Trilogy Trio Set is $21,600. Individually, the Seamaster 300 is $7000, the Railmaster is $6800, and the Speedmaster is $7250. Available June 2017.
