Tudor GILT Chapter Dial Submariner 7928

The Tudor Submariner reference 7928 was produced from 1960 to 1968, and like all Submariners from the 1960s, they are becoming increasingly harder to find. Especially, if the dial and lume are original (although the bezel dot may have been replaced), and the condition is good overall. That fact, is of course driving up the price for the best examples, and not just Rolex Submariners, the Tudor Submariners as well.

Today, we found a Tudor 7928 GILT chapter dial Submariner that appears to have an original dial and that has not been re-lumed. The case is 40 mm and it includes as original riveted Oyster bracelet. According to TudorCollector, the reference 7928 GILT dial came in a number of dial versions, and with different types of crown guards, referred to as MKI, MKII, MKIII and MKIV. This particular piece has the GILT chapter ring with the rest of the writing in silver. That means it is likely what is a Mark II.

It appears to be in good condition, and all original, but that is of course something that needs to be verified by seeing the actual watch. If you buy it and it does not check out, you can always request a return or dispute the purchase through eBay.
