Baselworld 2017: Breguet Tradition Dame 7038

Well ahead of Baselworld 2017, which officially begins March 23rd, Swiss watchmaker Breguet has announced a new version of its Tradition Dame model. The Breguet Tradition Dame 7038 is presented in a 37 mm diameter 18K rose gold case that features a fluted caseband, a crown that is set with a watch movement ruby and welded lugs with screw bars. The entire case is polished and includes a bezel set with 68 brilliant-cut diamonds.

As is the signature of the Tradition line, the haute horology movement is fully visible on the dial side. In the center, you can see the mainspring power barrel which is hand-engraved with a rosette motif. Overlapping the barrel at 12 o’clock is a natural white mother-of-pearl dial that is decorated with an engine turned “Clou de Paris” hobnailing pattern, and raised Arabic numerals. Rose gold open-tipped hour and minute hands indicate what the time.

To increase the clarity of the dial and contrast with the rose gold case, the fully visible gear trains, bridges, and mainplate have been rhodium-plated, and feature either sandblasted (frosted) or brushed surfaces, for discreet yet luxurious aesthetic. The bridges are hand chamfered, with polished edges, and the screw heads have a perfect black polished surface (mirrored finish).

On the back, you can see a gold oscillating weight, engraved with the same rosette motif as the barrel.

Equipped with automatic caliber 505SR, the watch runs at 3Hz (21,600 vph), features lever escapement with silicon pallets and a Breguet balance spring also made of silicon. The movement has 38 jewels, is adjusted in 6 positions, and has a 50-hour power reserve.

The Breguet Tradition Dame 7038 is paired with a shiny white crocodile strap and matching buckle. Water-resistance is 30 meters. (Ref. 7038BR/18/9V6 D00D)
