Hands-On with the Chopard L.U.C Regulator at Baselworld

We showed you a preview of the Chopard L.U.C Regulator earlier in the month, and this is how it looks in real life. Regulators were historically used to “regulate” other clocks and watches. By separating the hours, minutes and seconds, optimal readability is achieved.

This is no ordinary regulator, though, it’s powered by quadruple mainsprings that offer an impressive 216 hours of power reserve, all in a mere 4.9 mm of thickness. In addition, there is a second 24-hour display that can be set by a simply pushing the semi-recessed pusher in the side of the case. There is also a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock.

The watch has both COSC certification and the Poinçon de Genève seal. The case measures 9.78 mm thick by 43 mm in diameter. (Ref. 161971-5001)
