Longines just announced an all new retro style chronograph is a cool cushion-shaped case. The Longines Heritage 1973 case is stainless steel and measures 40 mm in diameter, with a choice of a silvered or black dial.
It is powered by a caliber L688.2 (based on the ETA A08.L01) which is a column-wheel chronograph that runs at 4Hz, has 27 jewels and a 54-hour power reserve. Functions include: hours, minutes, small seconds (at 9 o’clock) and date (at 4:30), tachymeter scale, chronograph with central sweep, a dragging 30-minute counter (at 3 o’clock) and a 12-hour counter (at 6 o’clock).
The dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside. The case back is transparent. Water-resistance is 30 meters.
The silver dial has 9 applied indices with a black line and Super-LumiNova® dots, two black counters, and a blue tachymeter scale. The black dial features 9 applied indices with a black line and Super-LumiNova® dots, two silvered counters and blue tachymeter scale. The hands are rhodium-plated, with Super-LumiNova® and a black line on hours and minutes hands.
