A grade A 1973 Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronograph Ref. 176.007 will be up for grabs at the Antiquorum watch auction Saturday, August 25th. Estimates are low, and it will be sold without reserve.

Presented in a cushion shaped stainless steel case that is both polished and brushed, this Seamaster measures 38 x 42 mm, and is 15 mm thick. Screwed down case back inscribed with the Seamaster logo. Powered by caliber 1040, a self-winding mechanical movement with 22 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber and self-compensating balance spring.

The dial is bi-color satin silver and blue with steel baton indexes and luminous dots. Luminous black baton hands. Functions include hours, minutes, subsidiary seconds, date, 24-hour day/night indication and chronograph. Notably, instead of a more common subsidiary chronograph minutes indicator, the chronograph minutes are displayed via a central hand (the blue cross-shaped hand). Furthermore, as opposed to a small seconds hand, small seconds are displayed via a rotating disc with blue triangle inside the day/night indicator located at 9 o’clock.
