Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve Excellence Platine by Vacheron Constantin

Along with the Traditionnelle World Time Collection Excellence Platine, Vacheron Constantin will officially unveil the new Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve Collection Excellence Platine timepiece at the Hong Kong “Watches & Wonders” show on September 30th, 2014.

The Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve model is presented in a 950 platinum case measuring 39.5 x 10.65 mm — polished to a mirror finish. The crown is also in 950 platinum, with a signature Vacheron Constantin embossed Maltese cross, fully polished as well. The caseback features fluted platinum around the edge, with a sapphire crystal in the center to show off the Vacheron Constantin manufacture caliber 2475 SC that powers the watch.

The dial is in 950 platinum and has a finely grained sandblasted finish, along with the “Pt 950” hallmark in between 4 and 5 o’clock. The minute track, logo, day, date and power reserve indications are in black paint. The hours are marked by polished baton-shaped indexes. The hour and minute hands are Dauphine-shaped and facetted.

The movement is self-winding and beats at 4Hz. It has 264 components, a 40-hour power reserve and is finished with Côtes de Genève, bevelled and rhodiumed bridges and a circular-grained main plate. The movement bears the Hallmark of Geneva (Geneva Seal).

Functions include hours, minutes, day, date and power reserve.

The strap is in dark blue Mississippiensis alligator leather (large square scales) and is hand-sewn with silk and 950 platinum thread. According to Vacheron Constantin, “This combination is made possible by the remarkable malleability of this precious metal, of which a single gram can be drawn out to form an almost two kilometre-long thread.” The folding clasp is also made of 950 platinum, with a polished half Maltese cross.

Limited edition of 100 individually numbered pieces, with “#/100” engraved on the caseback. (Ref. 85290/000P-9947)
